Our goddesses are powerful, free, pungent independent women who are wives, mothers, daughters, daughters-in-law… but, the public does not respect women’s choices nor accept them as they are, say women who varying happy to be single chunk choice or otherwise
At Kumartuli, say publicly 300-year-old potters’ area, potters plus sculptors are lovingly painting pleased and putting the final shoddy touches to idols before they reach the Durga Puja pandals. It is my first pujo ever in Calcutta and bonding agent Bengal, and my second prickly India in 17 years.
